According to “Storm-Rider-Guide 98” “Lanzarote is the “european Hawaii”, with its mystic and volcanic extensions and its great variety of waves, from the perfect classic waves to the typical isolated beaches with small waves perfect for beginners.

With Lanzarote being a year round holiday destination, the airlines fly to the Island all year which means there is usually good availability on a flight to Lanzarote for most dates. Even in the peak summer season it is still possible to get a flight deal to Lanzarote for a relatively low price.

  • Taxi from the airport to Caleta Famara (40 € approximately)
  • Rent a car (you can see the car rental options that Calima offer)
  • Bus:
    • Monday to Friday: Take the airport line 22 to reach the central bus station and once there the line number 20 to reach Caleta Famara
    • Weekends: During the weekends the route is a little longer. Take the number 23 line at the airport to the central bus station. Once there take the No. 3 line to Costa Teguise Costa Teguise and from No. 3 line to Caleta Famara.

Founder of the school in 1996, he currently heads the company's marketing and human resources. He started surfing in 1981, his passion for the sport leading him to surf in 5 continents. In the early days of Calima Surf, he managed the school and led the surfaris with the most advanced level 3 customers. Maike is still in search of the perfect wave and will travel the world to find it. If you want to meet him, find him in San Juan or La Santa where he spends more time than he does in his own house.
