KiteSurfing School

Our kitesurfing school in Famara, Lanzarote stays open to adults and children all year round. Come to the Canary Islands, just a 2 hour flight from Spain, and do beginners or advanced kitesurfing in a truly fantastic climate.

Calima Kitesurf runs beginners, intermediate and advanced kitesurfing camps.

We are based in the spectacular Caleta de Famara Natural Park, far away from tourists and crowds and just 100 metres from the famous sandy 6.5km Famara Beach. CALIMA kitesurfing courses are an excellent option for this summer, combining sport, sun and crystal-clear waters.

The kitesurfing lessons are taught on Famara beach and usually take place during low tide to give us more space and greater security.

Basic 2 day kitesurfing course includes:

• 2 days of kitesurfing school(6hrs).
• Kites, harnesses, lifejackets, helmets and kiteboards.
• Qualified instructors.
• Public liability insurance.
• Maximum 4 students per instructor.
• Discounts for groups of 3 or 4.

Complete 4 day course on Famara beach, Lanzarote:

Objective: To learn to control the kite on both sides, to navigate freely, waterstart, to learn the basics of riding upwind and its application.

• 4 days of kitesurfing lessons – 3h/day (12 hours).
• Kites, harnesses, lifejackets, helmets and kiteboards.
• Qualified instructors.
• Public liability insurance.
• Maximum 4 students per instructor.
• Discounts for groups of 3 or 4.

Objective: to learn to navigate the three routes and basic manouevres

The intermediate course includes:

• 2 days of kitesurfing lessons (6 hours).
• Kites, harnesses, lifejackets, helmets and kiteboards.
• Qualified instructors.
• Public liability insurance.
• Maximum 4 students per instructor.
• Discounts for groups of 3 or 4.

Objective: to develop technique and learn basic manouevres and jumps.

In these lessons, students learn the following:

• Body position.
• Control of the constant power of the kite and movement techniques for both wind directions.
• Control of the movement of the board, methods of accelerating or braking using the edge of the board.
• 180 turns, fluid direction changes without losing speed and basic jumps.

Advanced Level Kite Surfing Course includes:

• 2 days of kitesurfing lessons (6 hours).
• Kites, harnesses, lifejackets, helmets, radios and kiteboards.
• Manouevres and jumps.
• Qualified instructors.
• Training based on level of each student.
• Supervised practise.
• Public liability insurance
